Christmas day

Yesterday I wrote that Christmas is a time for reflection. It is also, I think, a time to forgive. Life is what we want it to be. We have a lot of knowledge from history as well as from research from various areas. It is up to you and me to shape the future.

This painting below is made by a refugee during World War II. And this is where my brother and I are grown up. A lot of feelings are connected to our birth place/parents house. People often stop by and come to say hello. There are many memories from this mansion house that they would like to revive.

Two years ago, we got a letter from a woman in Germany. She is Jewish, grown up in Sarpsborg, and her two brothers stayed here during the war after being rescued by Folke Bernadotte in Budapest. Since I am interested in history, I have asked my father. He says, that there were refugees here from Norway, Russia and Germany. Probably also other countries. We do not know. There is a lot of interesting history from here. Nicely presented by Author Olle Nilsson and Gösta Persson.
