A day off. Beautiful weather and some French atmosphere. When I went for training today, there were many French speaking out walking. The news have been loaded with information about the election in France. Very interesting to follow. France will always be in my mind. Yesterday, and also today, I just had to have some French cheese. I remember that it was very calm during Sundays in France. Often I went for a “Pâtisserie” to by some sweets or a baguette.
The result will have effects on Europe, so it concerns you and me as a global citizen. It seems like the challenge is to, somehow, prevent terrorattacks. There was an incident in Paris this week where a polis man was shut, so how can this be prevented? The polis is very skilled and seem to have a lot of information about those committing the crimes. But how can they prevent? I follow lefigaro.fr and it will be interesting to see the result tonight.
So, this Sunday, it is just an easy afternoon. Watching a movie and thinking of French Pâtisserie.
Life would´t be much without sports. For sure, I need activity in my life. During easter I have stayed outdoors in fresh air, taking care of my sweeties. The weather is not stable so it has been rather cold with snow and wind. Therefore, these days it is good to remember vacations. So, I thought of Sigiriya Rock, Sri Lanka. The Lion Rock. Maybe, also because the “stone lions” saved many lives, where the terror attack was in Stockholm.
After my stay with Anu and her husband, I continued to the Lion Rock. I had heard about it when I was in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. Often when I travel I meet other travelers and I was recommended to go there by an American couple. And I do not regret going there. It was fascinating. A historical garden with an exciting story where animals were symbols for protection of the mountain.
I had a private guide and that was good because I was told a lot of stories. The Sigiriya garden are among the oldest surviving historic gardens in Asia. I was really impressed. At that time there was no electricity so they used marble to build floors. These floors reflected moon light and that gave light during night time. Water was also used in a clever way.
I was there rather early, and that was good because there were many tourists who wanted to see the mountain and the view. It was a beautiful mixture of organized garden in nature. I saw fascinating work during my walk to the top of the mountain. The Lion Platform, beautiful frescoes, and poetry on the Mirror wall. The stairways were narrow and I don´t know how the dog I saw at a rather high altitude, had managed to reach so far.
I must admit that I was really impressed, and also emotionally touched, with regard to nature and creativity.
The catastrophe that happened last Friday has affected many people, not only Sweden but also Great Britain and Belgium. It is a fact that the world is international and that you should be considered as a world citizen.
The police handled the situation very well, and it was beautiful to see how horror and hatred can be challenged. Meeting disaster with love. Flowers and people everywhere at Sergels torg. The man who did this was rapidly caught by the police. He had applied to stay in Sweden but he was turned down. The same situation happened in Berlin and ended in tragedy.
Life continues. I feel that I need to follow the news closely to see the political development. I continue with sports and I thought about the bomb that exploded during a Marathon. Terror can be everywhere. I like sports a lot and that is a very peaceful way of living. It makes me smile. And it makes me feel good. To feel freedom.
That is why I chose to show the photo above. Even though extreme acts happen, you have to stay strong. To continue with life and face life with love and strength.
