I devote my sparetime to reading and writing. Today I visited “bokbordet” for the first time with a colleague of mine. Bokbordet is a very good idea. You rent a table and sell books. We were lucky since there was no rain. Just an afternoon for strolling around the streets. A lot of people had had the same idea. Busy streets.
It was my first time to Norra Latin, an old school but today used for conferences etc. There was a guided tour and we saw some paintings made by Bruno Liljefors, Prins Eugen and Carl Larsson. Some were directly painted on the walls that had taken years, very time-consuming. It is always beautiful and it also tempts my fantasy when I see paintings because there is often a fascinating history behind. I like to watch paintings since they may change the more you watch. Perhaps you can woven your own fantasy into the story of the painting.
Sharing some photos from today. Bokbordet, norra latin and a woman performing theatre, Strindberg (en dåres försvarstal).
Next week everything will return to usual habits. It is still warm but there is a feeling of autumn approaching. It has been so warm so I am almost happy that it will be a little chillier. It hasn’t been this warm in several centuries, I heard. Some rain has, however, changed the lawns greener. The grass is no longer dry.
I haven’t been writing so much since I need to read some to reflect on what I have written. I read books from a different angle now. It has taken many years to find my own style of writing, so therefore, it is interesting to read other authors.
Previously, I have told you that I have stayed a year in France where my interest in languages appeared. When I returned to Sweden I read this book by Simone de Beauvoir. That was decades ago so I will read it again now. Don’t remember much. I stayed with a French family and the mother was called Simone.
Every day I see this creative art below on the walls in the subway, so daily I think of Simone de Beauvoir. Re-reading this book will be interesting since I have more life experiences. Maybe, I will read some of Sartre. They had a life long relationship.
Today is the first day for very long where the temperature is a little lower. It really has been a tropical summer. I run during the weekends since I have more time then. This weekend was very warm so I didn’t run so fast. It is like sauna. My little sweetie is in very good shape right now. The only thing bothering her is all the ticks. There are many ticks this summer.
Cold winter and hot summer. I googled this to see if summer and winter are related, but to the best of my knowledge there is no association. It is so warm so there are a lot of fires that are not so easy to extinguish. Italy and France are contributing with canadair planes to bomb water over the forests. It is impressive how these planes catch water.
I went for running this morning and walk with sweetie as usual. Even though it is so warm she wants to go for walks. It is now time to relax so I read a book that a colleague of mine recommended. A story about Morrie, a professor in sociology that has ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), a motor nerve disease. ALS is characterized by stiff muscles, muscle twitching, and gradually worsening weakness due to muscles decreasing in size. It is a disease that today is not so easy to hamper. I am happy that I am able to run.
What do you read this summer?
