Actually, I don´t have much to tell about today. It has been a so called ordinary day. I have watched the photos from yesterday. They make me happy and they give me a lot of energy. It was such a nice walk.

Since it is winter time now life has changed to darker evenings. These evenings where you just feel like not doing much but to stay at home, watch tv and have a cup of the. This weekend, I think, was the last running. I will miss running since it is so fresh. I don´t like to run when it is so dark outside.

Just a few words to end this week. I am so found of walking and running. Showing a few photos from today. I wanted to keep them for myself, but ok, I share them with you. Nature is beautiful.

Historical review is sometimes important. I feel worried about today´s school and the teaching of history. I feel worried about the future since today´s politicians don´t care about the future; they only care about staying in power.

As usual I follow the news and I try to summarize what´s happening. Today I think about what happened in the US in the 1970s. Watergate. That was a big scandal but what is important, to my opinion, is that order and law seemed to work. Here, I would like refer to my own country were I live. Sweden. Politicians are sometimes interrogated. This is shown in tv, but they are never held responsible. They are allowed to waste taxpayers money. A few years ago Swedish government spent a lot, a lot of money where they, more or less, ruined Vattenfall (a Swedish electricity company). Billions of Swedish crowns disappeared. I followed the news and what was shown was “lekstuga”. I could translate that to a playground for politicians. If politicians never are hold responsible, that means that they are allowed to waste money and more or less just play. They need to show responsibility. They need to know that they, as well as all other people, could be judged by law.

I am  also worried about Swedish economy. Sweden has a deficit of money. That means that we have to borrow money to have the economy going. Is that sound? Previous prime minister of Sweden Göran Persson once said “Den som är satt i skuld är icke fri”. Today Sweden is held by a minority government by the social democrats. Their politics with regard to economy is not congruent.

What Sweden needs is to have like the USA, two parties to choose between with clear messages. Right now Swedish politics is too messy. I feel ashamed of Sweden.

Today is an important day for all people on earth. It is the UN day. Some years ago I went to New York and my greatest memory is my visit to the United Nations. I went for a guided tour and there were nationalities from all over the world even though we were a small group.

The second world war was in focus, and it is also remembered in today´s Uppsala Nya tidning (vide infra). A lot of books, films, tv interviews etc have tried to understand what happened during world war two. However, the terrible, un-understandable that happened at that time point has happened in several other countries also; for example in Rwanda, previous Yugoslavia, today´s Syria. There are endless examples.

Maybe the biggest challenge is to answer the question “how is it possible that it can happen again?”. This is an simple question, but it has a very complex answer. In many dimensions. I cannot give you an answer, but unsolved conflicts between people is a part of the answer.

People need identity and to be seen. If I turn to myself, I am grown up with two identities. Lappish and Swedish. It would have been easier for me with just one identity. However, this is very common today. Growing up with double, or even more identities. This includes a lot. Culture, traditions, religion, languages, relatives all over the world etcetera. So, it is very complex. No answer such as yes or no; you need to develop and elaborate your answer. In a thousand years, to put things in perspective, I believe that these so called borders will not be so strong. I think that the world will be more peaceful because all these factors will be mixed up. At this time point other things such as access of water, food, climate change etc will determine the setup of the world.

To return to the UN, I have noticed that a lot of people don´t think that they act. They talk, but no actions. However, they send an important message that peace, not war should prevail.
