Catching up latest news

I like to read and follow what happens locally, but also internationally with regard to sports, religion, politics etc. Right now, I think that Brexit is the most interesting news to follow. The new prime minister Boris Johnson must be very busy, and he definitely has a great challenge because he needs some kind of agreement with the European Union before leaving. Theresa May has done a lot of pre-work, but it takes time since it is rather complicated at many levels. What will be most interesting, according to me, is to see how free market forces will contribute. A lot of people are worried about trade, but trade will be automatically regulated I believe. But a helping hand from Boris Johnson is definitely needed. Guidance rather than regulations.

Next year there will be presidential election in the USA. These elections are interesting since they are very clear. How candidates are promoted and selected within respective parties (democrats and republicans). In the USA various companies are very important since they reflect employment and common wealth. In a way I have an impression that they are more important compared to other countries. I might be wrong. In Sweden there is not much talk about companies, but when I saw this headline in the news I got happy. Small companies are important. And should get more attention. That is for sure. Or what is your opinion?

Sharing some Swedish music this Friday. For weekend.

Autumn & exercise

Today has been a day off, and I got my number for “Hässelbyloppet”. This will be my third course this year, and this is the final one. 10 km is perfect. No marathon. Since I have had some muscle pain, I go for easy training right now. No running but other forms of training. So, this evening was cardio, strength and yoga. I need a lot of stretch. I really hope it will not be so cold next Sunday. On Tuesday I will run and then walk with my sweetie. I miss her.

Une epoque nouvelle

A new time era begins. There are now several months ago since my dear mother passed away. My auntie has been in Sweden after the funeral til now. She leaves tomorrow for her American family. We have watched old photos to remember, and what I mostly remember is that my mother was “consistently there”. Always close to her family. It has taken time for myself to understand this last decade, that I actually have written this book for my mother. And that running has been a way to take care of myself. Because now, every time I run, I always remember my mother.

We also got my little sweetie, and she has been very supportive. My father has seen that she is a little sad, so probably this spring she will have a fellow dog. I have started to search for a new dog and they are so cute. Currently, the Cocker Spaniel is popular. The brown-golden is so sweet. We already have a name: Morris. But plans may change. To have dreams is the best.

When we watched old photos I found this picture of myself when I had turned 22 years old. My mother has had her origin from the north of Sweden, whereas my father is from south of Sweden. I have had one foot in north and the other foot in the south during childhood. It has sometimes been difficult to know where I belong, but I have felt north Swedish, and still do. Relieved by my brown eyes. So, this evening I share something very personal: a photo in the mountains in north of Sweden.

Poetry & Cover version

I am actually very happy that I have written poetry. Not much, but at least I have made a serious try. And printed a book out of it. Currently, I find it difficult to compose. That is probably why I listen so much to music and lyrics instead. At that time when I wrote, I was overwhelmed by a lot of feelings and other things that happened. Maybe that is the reason why I could compose.

I am looking forward to my voyage to Copenhagen when I am going to learn more about eg Karen Blixen. My main character in the book “Generationer” is Greten, a name rather similar to Karen. I don’t know where Greten came from, but perhaps I was inspired by Karen Blixen. Unconsciously. Greten had a babysitter namned Karen. Anyway, Greten and Karen are beautiful names.

So, this evening I am sharing another version of “The house of the rising sun”. I do not know who made the original version. The one by The animals might be one of the most famous. This is a kind of Dogma song. I like it a lot. Simple and plain interpreted by Hattie Webb.

Sunday and health care

It has been a little rainy today and I have stayed at home. Reading, listening to music, and then some exercise in the afternoon. I often dedicate Sundays to relaxing and taking care of myself. Today’s training was tough but good. Feels so good to let the pulse rise and increase blood circulation during work out. It is a kind of sauna. And very good yoga-stretch afterwards.

Yesterday I found this song, and I would like to end this week by sharing “The house of the rising sun”. An old, classic, breathtaking song. A traditional folk song. This version is by the British rock group “The Animals” from 1964.
