This is my last day at work and then I will have three weeks of vacation. My holiday will pass rapidly and there is much I would like to do. The coffee I talked about, has made me think a lot about Italy. I will go to Rome for a few days, and I will also spend time doing exercise for “tjejmilen”. So, some travelling and also a lot of sports. You can follow the micro blogging on Instagram that I will share. Take care.
I have always liked water, mostly because it gives a sense of freedom. This summer I will practice crawling. I had a lesson this spring, and I need to practice so I can have a new lesson this autumn. There was a time when I liked to follow Volvo Ocean race. When I lived in Gothenburg. Impressive boats and teamwork sailing all over the world. I see boats every day and that is why I have started to remember. I like the dolphins in this movie.
Recently, I have thought a lot about freedom, and the poems that I have written touches upon this delicate subject. Freedom may be defined in many ways, and it is a little strange, but music represents freedom for me. The ocean is also closely associated to this word. I am not going to write much about this but I browsed the internet for a song representing freedom, and I found this one by Moby. It also puts me into a summer mood. Isn’t it a beautiful song?
I will dedicate some, or even quite a lot of time on my vacation to studies. I have a lot that I would like to read, and I need to make a frame to my next book. When I studied at the university in Uppsala I worked some during summer. I also spent time studying other subjects than pharmacology. Fairy tales have always been my favourite, like the Greek stories and myths. Those summers were very calm and relaxing, and I would like to remember that. This week I will start to learn about Italy. At least a little. Over a cup of coffee.
When I was on Cuba a few years ago I met an Italian couple. Since I stayed at a little cuban island (Cayo Levisa), there was not much to do but talking to people, enjoying sun and cuban cooking. We talked about coffee. I have a lot of tea, but sometimes it is good to have a cup of coffee. I like rather strong coffee. I don’t know why, but I have remembered the recommendation from this couple: Nespresso. During the tough months with my mother’s passing away I needed something strong, so I bought a coffee machine instead of going to cafés. That actually helped me.
This coffee has made me think of Italy, and also inspiration for my next book. I have a little project infront of me – I will learn more about Italy. At high school my family went to visit my aunt in Florida. I missed time at school and I remember I had to write about the Roman Empire. I did quite a lot of work, but unfortunately, I don’t remember much. However, I do remember something about Hannibal and elephants in the Alps. I definitely have to refresh my memory. Pyrric Victory was also something I learnt. The Romans also had some kind of transportation system of water, namely aqueducts. At that time, it was very impressive, and also is today.
Yes, architecture is something that impresses me. That is why I always feel sad when an old building is removed and replaced by a new construction.
History is lost.
I ended this day by having a cup of coffee. After that some rest, collecting energy for running which I did later. A warm and beautiful evening.
