Blodomloppet was yesterday. It was a long time ago since I participated in a running course, and it has been great for me to have training this spring. I didn’t run that fast, more than an hour for 10 km. But I should be content since I didn’t stop, and it felt good afterwards. Weather was ok, no rain. But today it has been rainy and also some thunder. So I must say I was lucky.
When I go for running alone it is like meditation. It is good to do this kind of training since a running course pushes you to run faster and be even more focused. Now I have a whole summer infront of me. I am trying to find people who would like to join for tjejmilen the 31st of August. But first, I share this photo from yesterday after finishing blodomloppet.
I am rather prepared for tomorrow and I am looking forward to the running course. Indeed, I would like to have a better time than approximately an hour. But, it will be fun anyway. It has really been good for me to focus on training. And it is so nice to experience the change in nature that currently appears. It is getting greener every day. More flowers. Deers, rabbits and also walking with sweetie.
Blodomloppet is a good way of running together with colleagues. A previous colleague who worked at LloydsPharmacies will join. I am very happy about that. Later, I will probably also run “Tjejmilen”, and I am trying to get more people interested. Last time I ran tjejmilen, it was sponsored by LloydsPharmacies. And a previous colleague from AstraZeneca also ran. We met after running and it was great to reunite. I have noticed that I get more focused on training when I have a goal.
Training is very good for me. It helps me to get inspiration for writing, and also to help customers to find right pharmacological treatment. Tomorrow I will go directly from work to Djurgården, Kaknästornet. Weather forecast is predicting rain. I really hope not. It would be so nice with sunshine. Today I completed my mini pharmacy with various products. Things that are good to have at home in case of accident or any other emergency. Like wounded feet or symptoms of a cold etc. I do not want to cancel my running since I have been looking forward to it for such a long time. During the day I have had more water than usual, and I will continue with that tomorrow. I must admit that I have been lucky since I haven’t been injured. No inflammation.
This is the first time I participate in blodomloppet. For those of you who have followed my writing know that I have written a story about Fredrik and his daughter Greten. I was deeply attached to the characters in my book, especially Greten. She was very unlucky and the reader will learn about leukemia. The immunsystem is very facinating and complicated. I felt very sorry for Greten, and I was also interested in knowing my own blood group. Last autumn I donated blood for the very first time. It was ok and I only need to refill my iron depots.
I will just relax tonight and tomorrow. And I am looking forward to Wednesday.
Stockholm has tropical temperature, and I like that. No winter jacket. No gloves and no hat. Time for summer. After a cold and chilly winter it is well deserved to have summer with bright evenings. I went for training this afternoon. My last training before the running course on Wednesday. This exercise has actually helped me a lot to mourn my mother. Mourning takes time. My mother devoted her life to my brother and me. She also spent a lot of time with her sister who has been abroad several years. My aunt lived in Liberia for a few years where she worked at a local hospital. She worked for a Swedish company, and they helped relatives to travel to Liberia for reunion with family. My parents visited her. A whole plane was arranged for family members. This was in 1980s.
To remember, I have seen some photos of my mother. I found the above from Liberia. I will keep this photo in my mind during this week. There are still a couple of days left til blodomloppet. These days I will recover. Have good food, and also have a lot of water. I cannot really explain why, and I wonder why: I find it difficult to have only water. After sports water is good, but otherwise I always need some kind of taste. My favourite is lemon water and water with bubbles. Talk about first world problems.
Blodomloppet, the running course I am participating in, is on Wednesday. I have bought a mini pharmacy that I have at home, just in case I would start to feel any symptoms of a cold. Washing my hands helps me to prevent having a virus, but I still need to be careful. I did my last running this Thursday. It was warm, and very nice, and since it is that hot, I have a lot of water every day. Today I will go for some spinning and core training. For change, and also to let other muscles work. My last training will be tomorrow, and after that I will just relax and have a lot of water. SMHI, weather forecast, predicts cloudy and a little chilly weather. As long as it is not rainy I am happy. But it would be nice to have a lot of sunshine. Wish me good luck!
