Sathurday evening

I had a wonderful training this afternoon. Exercise should be fun. Sometimes that can be forgotten, and today I had to remind myself of that. Life is busy and there is so much I would like to do. However, to stay in shape is always the most important thing to prioritise. Because, if you don´t feel well like having a flue or similar, then you don´t want to do anything. To be sporty improves your immunological defence. Exercise increases your defence.

This afternoon I was very slow. It was perfect temperature, sunshine, no rain. Saw a beautiful sunset. I had little muscle pain and I was surprised of that since I do a lot of stretch. But, I have commented on that before that running is not cycling. Running is much tougher for me.

I have got the book on “pulse” that I am reading. There are different intervals to stay at to achieve various goals. My pulse this afternoon was about 150 during an hour. 110 walking. My max pulse has changed. I need to do a new test to see if it really has changed. It used to be 200 and now it is 180. Maybe a physiological explanation. I am a long distance runner and not a sprinter. Unfortunately. Wish I could be faster.

Enough talking about running. I am currently correcting my book so I need this exercise to be able to read my book from a different angle. Difficult and definitely challenging.

On the other side

Monday evening. I have accepted that autumn is here to stay. It is colder, rainier and darker. So, I have surrendered and I am adapting. This weekend I have done quite a lot of exercise. Running and walking. Since it is chilly, just to put some more clothes on. I need to do more running, maybe more intense like interval training. But most of all, I enjoy. I find it very nice to just run, to think of nothing, maybe see a deer or a fox. Since my little sweetie cannot run I take her for walk after running. She is very cute because she knows that I will run and when I come back it is her turn. Very sweet. Sometimes I bring the camera and I try to catch some glimpses. Difficult, but this weekend focus was on water. Beautiful raindrops.

Pulse to my language

Currently, I have become very interested in measuring my pulse. I will write more about it later. To get some more knowledge I have ordered a book to read about how to use your pulse to get your training at a personal level. Individualized. Training should be fun, but I also like to read about the physiological changes going on in your body when doing exercise. The heart grows to adapt. Etc.

I am also working on my own book. I am very happy because I have had my book corrected so I use good Swedish. I have learnt some and I will bring these advice further on when I will write my next book. I am very happy because I write proper Swedish but I need to do some changes. Writing a book is not the same thing as writing a thesis.

I need to do exercise to be able to write. So these hobbies make a great part of my life. It gives me time to reflect. This book will be rather emotional. I have accepted that maybe this book reflects a part of my own life and that the next book will be a part of my future life. Life is emotional weather you or me like it or not. My book will go together with poems, so this will be, with no doubts, emotional writing.

Running is not cycling

Training, training, training. To increase fitness is not always easy, and to change habits is a challenge. I do exercise because I think it is fun and it makes me feel good. However, now that I have decided to join Hässelbyloppet, I have to do more exercise. I thought I was in a rather good condition since I have done quite a lot of cycling. But no. I have really found out that running is not cycling. My pulse is higher when running. It is amazing that the heart can beat so much. But that is good. Always good to have the heart work. This weekend I stayed in Stockholm so no walking with my sweetie. Maybe next weekend. I miss her dearly.

Last weekend

Time passes rapidly. No doubt. I enjoyed this weekend very much. I must admit that I was a little tired, but to wake up and find a day filled with sunshine is the best. It felt like it was the last taste of summer.

So I got into a training mood rather quickly since I was told that there might be rain in the afternoon. My sweetie is always very eager to go for walks. She cannot run since her paws get hurt. I wanted to find out how my running is right now. And I must admit, it was tough. I can run far, but not at the pace I would like. So, one hour for 10 km. I would be very happy if I could reach 55 minutes. I know I shouldn’t´t think about time, but it is always tempting.

After running I went for a walk. I haven´t had time to search for mushrooms this year so I had a look. Normally there are a lot of “kantareller”, but not this year. It started to rain in the afternoon and I had the photo below, illustrating autumn.

To stay in shape!

A few signs of autumn have appeared. Even though I don´t like that it is getting darker and colder, I like to watch the leaves slowly change colours. To go for long walks with my sweetie, fresh air and also to search for mushrooms.

As you know, I spend a lot of my spare time on exercise. This summer I have only done training to enjoy nature. Not to have any feeling that I would like to reach next stage at a physiological level. My pulse has actually decreased and I interpret that as a better oxygen metabolism in my body. Last spring I did a lot of cycling, and changed to running during summer. I definetly feel that I use other muscles when running and cycling. I have had so much pain!

Last weekend was “Tjejmilen”. I have participated a few times but not this year. However, last Saturday when I saw all runners, I got very inspired. I remembered that it is very fun to feel the pulse increase just when the start is off. 10 km. And the happy feeling when reaching goal.

So, I am going to join Hässelbyloppet (10 km) in October. Unfortunately, I don´t have all time I would like to have to really be prepared. Would like to run for 50 minutes. But, I have to realise that it will be approximately one hour. I really hope that it will be sunshine that day so I can keep it as a nice memory. I run for fun.
