It has been a great day. Weather forecast actually predicted right. A warm and sunny day. I went to “Gärdet” this afternoon with two of my colleagues. A lot of people had gathered, and of course, mostly women. Last time I participated I remember it was a little cold and rainy. It is so good when it is warm, then I don’t need to do so much warming up. It was a fun run. And always beautiful to be surrounded by water. When we finally reached the goal, we had a little something to drink and eat.
I always like to cook after training. So I did this evening. And not to forget, some bread and blueberry cup cakes.
I don’t know why, but lately I have been thinking about old sayings like “home sweet home”, “a penny for your thoughts” etc. Wise words are difficult to find and compose to an intelligent phrase. Tomorrow is “tjejmilen” and right now I am preparing some (clothing and water) so it will be a nice and relaxing day. A fun day with lots of joy. There will be so many women participating and it will be crowded as usual. I will go to sleep early. So I end this day by saying “sleep tight and don’t let the bedbugs bite”.
I have had a day off and I have dedicated this day to recovery and training. Last easy jogging before “tjejmilen” on Saturday. It was a lovely, sunny and beautiful day. It would be perfect if this weather would last til this weekend. I thought of my visit in Rome this summer. And indeed, I have a lot of new inspiration for learning more about Italy. Meanwhile, I have pasta at home. In Rome, military was present in the city. At first, I thought “why are they here?”, it was a bit scary. But then, I noticed that they had a calming effect on the life in Rome. And I felt secure. There is quite a lot of violence so, I think it is fine if the military is present in society.
When I ran I started to think about the approaching autumn, and I hope there will be some good movies to watch. I am still waiting for the James Bond movie. When I run I cross some bridges, and that reminded me of the movie “The Bridge on the River Kwai ” (1957) – British-American epic war film directed by David Lean and based on the novel Le Pont de la Rivière Kwaï (1952) by Pierre Boulle. Sharing the theme song from this movie.
Today is the 26:th of August and that is the day of the year when we celebrate our sweet dogs. This day is to honor dogs, and to rescue dogs from homelessness and abuse. Dogs give love and companionship and they help us out in countless ways. In addition, they also serve as watch dogs. This summer I met so many sweet dogs, and to remember and celebrate this day I share one of my photos.
I have been resting for a few days, and now it is only a few days left til “tjejmilen”. It actually is warm today and I enjoy that a lot. Summer is still present. Tomorrow I will do some running and this evening I will make some home made bread. It is not very often I do that, but right now it feels good to have fresh bread for breakfast. I miss my sweetie.
