It is Sunday and it is a rather ordinary weekend. It was fun to see my best friend from childhood last weekend, because that reminded me of all joy we used to have when we were little. The song contest “Melodifestivalen” was very popular and everybody wanted to be Carola. The singers truly are role models for future generations. So, it is rather interesting to see that nothing has changed. Watched the final yesterday. However, the texts are sometimes naughty with bad words, and I don´t understand that it is allowed. It should be censured.
I promised to write about HCMC. It has taken time for me how to formulate. I visited a friend from a previous work and his family. I learnt a lot about Vietnam life. It is right. Not to talk about the Vietnam war, but to focus on future generations. Vietnam really is a growing economy. Life is different. Family constellations are different from what I know in Sweden. Families help each other, over generations. Religion play a role, but not so much. I saw the beautiful incense as you can see below.
The weather was delicate in Saigon. Hanoi was cooler. I went a lot by taxi in HCMC. I didn´t walk much just because it was impossible. And there were motorbikes. A lot of motorbikes.
Yesterday was woman´s day. Usually on woman´s day I do something like cleaning, cooking or baking. Not yesterday because I didn´t have time. The greatest problem today, according to me, is tensions between women. And there will always be because that is so deeply rooted in the genes. I always find answers in biology. But, of course, you cannot always blame biology. Like blaming everything on religion.
However, I am so happy that I could see my best friend from my childhood last weekend. That made me think of now and future. Not so much about history. I am soon going to write about Saigon and also some about alcohol addiction. I got a book from my previous mentor Professor Jörgen Engel so I have some nice pictures I will show. Addiction, with special emphasis on alcohol, will always be an interesting topic.
I am also thinking of how to formulate some interpretation of the Vietnam war since I went to the Vietnam remnants museum in HCMC. There are always two sides of a coin, and in this case, Vietnam versus America or vice versa. War is horrible. What I think is worst is how they, on purpose, try to give toxic agents to pregnant women so their children will be affected, which in turn, will affect future generations. That is not human.
So, it was very good to see my friend. To focus on future generations. How can you explain the Vietnam war to a 10 year old?
