Daily life

Next week everything will return to usual habits. It is still warm but there is a feeling of autumn approaching. It has been so warm so I am almost happy that it will be a little chillier. It hasn’t been this warm in several centuries, I heard. Some rain has, however, changed the lawns greener. The grass is no longer dry.

I haven’t been writing so much since I need to read some to reflect on what I have written. I read books from a different angle now. It has taken many years to find my own style of writing, so therefore, it is interesting to read other authors.

Previously, I have told you that I have stayed a year in France where my interest in languages appeared. When I returned to Sweden I read this book by Simone de Beauvoir. That was decades ago so I will read it again now. Don’t remember much. I stayed with a French family and the mother was called Simone.

Every day I see this creative art below on the walls in the subway, so daily I think of Simone de Beauvoir. Re-reading this book will be interesting since I have more life experiences. Maybe, I will read some of Sartre. They had a life long relationship.

August

Today is the first day for very long where the temperature is a little lower. It really has been a tropical summer. I run during the weekends since I have more time then. This weekend was very warm so I didn’t run so fast. It is like sauna. My little sweetie is in very good shape right now. The only thing bothering her is all the ticks. There are many ticks this summer.

Exercise, reading and summer

Cold winter and hot summer. I googled this to see if summer and winter are related, but to the best of my knowledge there is no association. It is so warm so there are a lot of fires that are not so easy to extinguish. Italy and France are contributing with canadair planes to bomb water over the forests. It is impressive how these planes catch water.

I went for running this morning and walk with sweetie as usual. Even though it is so warm she wants to go for walks. It is now time to relax so I read a book that a colleague of mine recommended. A story about Morrie, a professor in sociology that has ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), a motor nerve disease. ALS is characterized by stiff muscles, muscle twitching, and gradually worsening weakness due to muscles decreasing in size. It is a disease that today is not so easy to hamper. I am happy that I am able to run.

What do you read this summer?

Running in slow motion

Right now I am in the country side. It is really warm. Not so much rain this summer. My little sweetie is very intelligent. She knows that when I am here she will go for walks. First, I run, and she waits at home. When I am back she is very happy and eager because she knows it is her turn.

Due to heat, my run was prolonged with a few minutes. I run slowly. Since I have been occupied with so much writing, I haven’t had time to do so much exercise, but this week I will start again, slowly.

Breakfast in Brussels

It really is summertime. Calm. I feel a bit relieved since I will soon send my writing for printing. Seven years of work. I haven’t really thought about it but I am very happy that I can use my own photographs for illustrations. Need to develop my photographing technique and also to find inspiration.

I have thought some about political development. Right now NATO is having meeting in Brussels. That is good, wish I would know more about what they talk about. News are quiet. NATO is becoming more like the UN, and that is good development. They should set goals for year 2100, what will the world look like at that time point? NATO is contributing to stability in the world and they really can affect the development of society a lot.

Sunny Sunday

Weather is perfect. I cannot believe that a few months ago I was skiing. Flowers, butterflies and deers jumping in the green fields. I have some muscle pain right now since I have been on training. Fresh to run in the mornings. Not so warm. Yesterday a little rain but that was good since I was warm.

Good news! My little sweetie is in very good shape right now. No pain in her paws and I think she has lost a kilo. So, she is happy to be able to go for walks again.

D-day. I follow the news and today I heard that international rescue teams have started to help the Thai boys trapped in the cave. It is terrible. It is like the Russian Kursk submarine disaster, the submarine that sank north of Norway a few decades ago. My very best thoughts to families involved.

July and duties

Yes, I am back to work and no vacation. I had a great semester that passed very rapidly. Weather was nice so I cannot complain. My goal was to run every day to get that exercise that I don’t normally have time to. It is so wonderful to go training.

As usual it is calm during summer. Whenever I turn on the radio or the tv there is talks about politics since it is election in Sweden in September. Nothing new. No new politics. Where is the political development?

I was sad last weekend when I heard that Professor Arvid Carlsson has passed away. He has invented a lot within pharmacology that has been translated into daily treatment of patients. I still see his presentations on youtube sometimes to remind myself of pharmacology.

This weekend I will see my little sweetie and I am very happy about that. Wishing you a nice weekend.
