Sunday

I am lucky. It is so beautiful today and that is what I needed to find energy. As you know I am integrating my writing here with my book. Sometimes I go to church and I did today. It doesn´t happen very often but sometimes I do. Probably because I am grown up with this tradition.

I have actually lived in Uppsala for approximately 7 years so I really know Uppsala. A lot has changed but somethings will never change. Fyrisån is still there and will always be I suppose. A lot of stores have moved, closed or reopened. However, this “ice-cream shop” (photo below) has always been by Fyrisån as far as I know.

It was a very beautiful service today with “Hans helighet Tawadros II, Påve av Alexandria” from Egypt. In the book I write I touch a little upon religion. This is a very difficult subject and I can talk a lot about it but, I don´t. I would just like to note that something that is considered normal in Sweden with concern to religion can be interpreted as weird and/or strange in other countries. This is one of the biggest challenges in the world. How can borders be bridged?

Last night I thought of confession. I thought of the church and I remembered that there was a little shield for confession. I searched for it today but I couldn’t find it. However, I live like a nun today so maybe I don´t have anything to confess? I went for the holy communion so that was my confession.

Uppsala domkyrka is graceful and an old church. And Uppsala in general, is a very old town. A lot of people study in Uppsala and have studied. The university is very old, from several centuries ago. I like to hear the bells from the church. That was a reminder for students that they had 15 minutes (akademisk kvart) from the ringing to class. Gossip.

Please, have a look at the photos below from Uppsala. The picture above is a very important mansion from a historical point of view. I don´t know why, but my historical interest is huge. Sometimes.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Sathurday evening

Hi there! Today I have been working out so I was tired in the afternoon. I got very inspired by participating in “Tjejmilen” so now I am training for “Hässelbyloppet”. It will be the 100th time so I suppose there will be a lot of celebration. I really hope that I won´t get injured. Now I am more careful so I went to Yoga after running. As usual, I stop when I see something I would like to catch. Amazing that you find country side in the middle of Stockholm as you can see on the photo below.

Tonight I will continue to work with my book. I had a nice late lunch/dinner at Texas Longhorn. My sweet auntie has thought me to go there. She and her  American family has introduced me to American kitchen. Tortillas tonight.

I am currently writing about a part in my book that takes place in the north part of Sweden. I remember things you do in Lappland since I have spent a lot of time there when I was little. Like this special bread as you can see on the photo above. It is very famous and it also has a soft version. At this time point of the year, there are many people celebrating “Surströmmings premiär”. That is really a typical tradition from the north part of Sweden. I am not so keen on it because of  the smell. However, you have this bread, lots of onions, surströmming and something good to drink.

Ok, I really hope you have a beautiful weekend. At least I have and I share it with you.
