Coronavirus super-spreader

Mini blog. We are in an interesting time phase of the pandemic where biology meets economic and politics. So far soo good in terms of economics, but terrible with regard to the elderly population. It is a challenge to track and isolate the Corona virus. I allow myself to go to the grocery store and also to go for sports. Since the second wave is peaking, I sometimes wear medical face mask on subway. Meanwhile, I have time to think of the formation of aerosols and that my face mask gives me some protection. Also, in respect to people close by. They might think that I carry the virus.

News doesn’t talk much about this, but once in a while the term “Corona super-spreader” is mentioned. Some people who do not show symptoms are capable of transmitting the virus during a pre-symptomatic phase. To understand what might make someone a super emitter is actually being, and has been, studied. Just take a look at a crowd of people standing by a bus stop on a cold day, and you’ll notice everyone’s breath fog looks different in terms of size. Understanding how aerosols form in the body is crucial to figuring out why this virus spreads so readily.

Age is a major risk factor for developing severe symptoms of COVID-19. Do you remember this figure? Please see the text also.

Returning to this Friday. I must admit that I do not feel for doing much, but it is nice and cosy to make your own dinner. Little treats in daily life. I am resting to save energy for this weekend’s training. Music with work out. So good. Sharing this song with Katy Perry that took me so long time to find. `Cry about it later` is an appropriate name in these pandemic times. Bon weekend!
