Late evening and a busy day

Hi there! Finally I can write something. I needed time to reflect on what I wrote last time. I have thought about lots of memories from Uppsala and it was very good for my book. I am almost ready with it, just need to read it again and again. Change some sentences, find better words etc. It will be a “feel good and sometimes feel sad book”.

Today has been, according to me, the very first day of autumn. I planned to run today so I had to have a look at the weather forecast yesterday. And they were right! Rain during the day and better weather during evening. Perfect. I am better now with some stretching after exercise so I went for a Yoga class. Need to save my muscles. In summary, tonight I had 2,5 hours training for both body and soul.

I don´t know why but during this week I thought about a friend I had in Uppsala and once we made cakes together. It was an easy recipe, but I remembered that I was very impressed. So tonight I tried to make the cakes. And it was not easy! They are for christmas, but I think they are good tonight as well. Actually, I don´t want to look forward right now. But I know Christmas is soon here so I better get prepared. Already October! Gaaah!

Ok, all for tonight. Long time ago since I made cakes at home. I have missed it.

Sunday

I am lucky. It is so beautiful today and that is what I needed to find energy. As you know I am integrating my writing here with my book. Sometimes I go to church and I did today. It doesn´t happen very often but sometimes I do. Probably because I am grown up with this tradition.

I have actually lived in Uppsala for approximately 7 years so I really know Uppsala. A lot has changed but somethings will never change. Fyrisån is still there and will always be I suppose. A lot of stores have moved, closed or reopened. However, this “ice-cream shop” (photo below) has always been by Fyrisån as far as I know.

It was a very beautiful service today with “Hans helighet Tawadros II, Påve av Alexandria” from Egypt. In the book I write I touch a little upon religion. This is a very difficult subject and I can talk a lot about it but, I don´t. I would just like to note that something that is considered normal in Sweden with concern to religion can be interpreted as weird and/or strange in other countries. This is one of the biggest challenges in the world. How can borders be bridged?

Last night I thought of confession. I thought of the church and I remembered that there was a little shield for confession. I searched for it today but I couldn’t find it. However, I live like a nun today so maybe I don´t have anything to confess? I went for the holy communion so that was my confession.

Uppsala domkyrka is graceful and an old church. And Uppsala in general, is a very old town. A lot of people study in Uppsala and have studied. The university is very old, from several centuries ago. I like to hear the bells from the church. That was a reminder for students that they had 15 minutes (akademisk kvart) from the ringing to class. Gossip.

Please, have a look at the photos below from Uppsala. The picture above is a very important mansion from a historical point of view. I don´t know why, but my historical interest is huge. Sometimes.

Enjoy your Sunday!
